When Faith Feels Dry
Greetings in the wonderful and awesome name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Firstly, I want to apologize for the past few weeks that I have not posted.
But this week, we will be getting into how sometimes we can be in dry seasons during our walk with Christ.
Today's title is: When Faith Feels Dry - Showing up even when it's hard.
There will be seasons where your faith feels like a desert - no fresh water, no loud "God moments", no overflowing joy.
You'll open your Bible and the words feel flat, you'll pray and feel like your prayers hit the ceiling, you'll worship and your heart won't stir the way it used to.
But faith was never meant to be anchored to our feelings. Feelings change with the weather, but God remains constant.
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever" - Hebrews 13 verse 8
The dry seasons are not proof that God has left you -
"For He Himself has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you"" - Hebrews 13 verse 5
They are often the proving grounds where your roots grow deeper, where you learn to trust Him for who He is, not just for what you feel.
Showing up when it's easy requires little sacrifice. But showing up when it's hard - when you don't "feel" it - that's where faith becomes real.
"We walk by faith, not by sight" - 2 Corinthians 5 verse 7
That's when your worship is purest, because it's not driven by emotion, but by conviction.
So keep showing up. Keep opening your Bible - "For the Word of God is living and active" - Hebrews 4 verse 12
Even when it feels quiet. Keep whispering prayers, even if they're weak
"The Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans" - Romans 8 verse 26
Keep worshipping, even with tears or silence
"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted" - Psalm 34 verse 18
God sees, God hears, and God is working - even in the desert.
"Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord" - Psalm 31 verse 24
And Remember as Galatians 6 verse 9 says "let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up".
Amen and Amen
